Book Trailer

Hey y’all! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked who sings the song in The Simple Soul of Susan’s book trailer. His name is Matt Moberg and he has a lot of really wonderful music. This song was kinda what I imagined if the book ever was picked up by producer (*COUGH *COUGH). Realistically though, I feel like the experience of listening to the song captures the soul of the book. Here are the lyrics and the book trailer if you haven’t seen it in a while:

Love On Her Arms

Let’s run away for good this time
Her baby blues are gonna make you cry
She don’t know the first thing of falling in love
She’d love to try, let’s call all our very best friends
Tell them that are lives are coming to an end
We’re going farther than standing still
In five years I’ll get you a ring
Take you to the steeple where the church bells sing
We’ll thank God and Mom for love, love, love
And we’ll look pretty in the video shows
Kissing in front of our friends and foes
Take the classes and say
“Hey, I think I can see that love”

We’re gonna take the world by storm
I want to do it with love on my arm
Not gonna settle for spells or charms
I want to do it with love on my arm
I want to do it with love on my arm
We’ll grab a cab, bus, or car
Tell them to take us to a land real far
A place where snow and fairy tales all collide
We’ll have our breakfast out at the sea
We’ll raise our cups for the rich to see
Even though we’re broke as dirt, we still got class
Then we’ll find a final place to rest
You lay your head upon my chest
I’ll sing you lullabies that’ll put you to sleep

We’re gonna take the world by storm
I want to do it with love on my arm
Not gonna settle for spells or charms
I want to do it with love on my arm
I want to do it with love on my arm
I want to do it with love on my arm
She said, meet at the beach one more time tonight
Twelve o’ clock should be fine
You wear that blue dress, I’ll wear that love on my arm

Wasnt Susan supposed to be brunett? And Calder was half Latino in the book I thought. Cuz those kids just look like they are from Sweden 😂

Ha! They were fresh out of brunettes and Latinos unfortunately. If you find some, you let me know 😉
